One of my close friends is very environmentally conscious - especially over the holidays. I think sometimes I let expectation get in the way of what people actually need, rather than just buying a preconceived number of gifts. It's always fun to pick up new items that people will love but sometimes those gifts sit... Continue Reading →
My son was born 5 days before Christmas last December. I remember thinking that there couldn't be anything more difficult than Christmas shopping at almost 9 months pregnant. There was the back pain, swollen legs and complete fatigue that seemed to get worse with every step I took through a shopping mall. Fast forward to... Continue Reading →
Every single year as Christmas approaches, I tell myself I'm going to make thoughtful handmade gifts for everyone on my list. Normally I make a couple but then life, the baby or any number of Christmas visits make the clock run on super speed. This year I've decided that instead of making my own homemade... Let's be honest, the holiday's aren't always easy, fun or joyful. This holiday season I'm trying to focus my energy on all the things in my life that are positive. At the time, I didn't appreciate how awesome it was that my family was able to see the world, especially with 3 kids. I can't imagine what it was like to try to pack for 3 kids and take them in a van across Canada for 4 weeks. Either my parents were a bit insane or really thought it was important.

Everyone has their own idea of the order in which you should do things in your life. I never gave much thought to it until I got married. I was hardly out of my wedding dress before people started asking me if I was pregnant yet. I was annoyed at first but not for the... Continue Reading →
